Determine the height of the riser and the width of the tread when the rise is 2.65m and the run is 2.75m.

Assuming rise height of 18cm, compute the number of steps for the total rise of 2.65m.

$Steps=\frac{2.65m}{0.18m}=14.72\simeq {\color{Red} \mathbf{15steps}}$

Re-check the height of each riser:

$Height_{riser}=\frac{2.65m}{15}=0.177m\left ( ok \right )$

Assuming a run of 30cm, compute the total run of the stairs:

$Run=\left ( 15-1 \right )\left ( 25cm \right )=350cm\simeq 3.50m> 2.75\left ( not ok \right )$

Have another trial of tread width = 25cm:

$Run=\left ( 15-1 \right )\left ( 20cm \right )=350cm\simeq 2.80m \left ( ok \right )$

Thus: 15 steps of 0.177m rise and 20cm tread
