Estimate the masonry required to construct a 5-bay wall with a total of 20m length as partially shown. CHB used is 6" and mixture is class B. Concrete proportion uses class A. And plaster mixture is class A at 20mm thickness.
Concrete:
- Footings and columns: The 5 intervals of wall comprise of 6 sets of footings and columns.
Using the volume method:
- Wall footings. There are 5 bays or lengths for the whole wall.
Then finally, concrete components for Concrete are:
For gravel, take note that gravel bed is supposed to be added to the volume for the footings and the wall footings.
Masonry:
- CHB
- Mortar (using area method)
- Plaster
For two faces plastered:
Using area method: class A and 20mm thk.
Summary of materials:
787 pcs 6" CHB
39.087+64.0322+45.288=148.4072 or 149 bags Portland cement (40kg)
2.7144+5.3088+2.516 =10.5392 or 11 cu.m. River sand
4.9205 or 5 cu.m. Gravel
