PLAIN AND CIVIL: EXAMPLE 3.1.1. ESTIMATING CHB USING THE TWO METHODS

Determine the number of 4" CHB to construct a wall of height=3m by length= 4.8m.

Fundamental method:

$Vert_{layers}=\frac{4.80m}{0.40m}=12layers$

$Horiz_{layers}=\frac{3.00m}{0.20m}=15layers$

The number of CHB is the product of the layers:

$CHB=12layers\left ( 15layers \right )={\color{Red} \boldsymbol{180pcs}}$

Area Method:

$CHB=Area_{wall}\left ( CHB_{1m^{2}} \right )$

$CHB=\left [ 3m\left ( 4.8m \right ) \right ]\left ( 12.50\frac{pcs}{m^{2}} \right )={\color{Red} \mathbf{180pcs}}$
