EXAMPLE 3.1.2. ESTIMATING MASONRY FOR A SMALL STRUCTURE

If the small structure from Example 2.4.4. is to be enclosed with 6" CHB, just leaving an opening for the entrance door, how many CHB are required?

Area method:

      

     

     For one storey or first level wall enclosure, the CHB wall should be embedded under the ground. Embedment ranges from 2 layers (0.4m height) to 3 layers (0.60mheight). This embedment will be founded by a wall footing (to be discussed later).

Door height is standardized at 2.10m. And for the entrance door, it would be wider at 1.0m.
