Determine the support reactions for the beam with concentrated loads and a moment.

Solving the reactions of a overhanging beam will have the same procedure as with the simply supported beams and the other types. It is in the determination of which unknown reactions to find as the key for the solution.

$\sum M_{D}=0$

$15lb\cdot ft+R_{BY}\left ( 18ft \right )+50lb\left ( 8ft \right )-30lb\left ( 23ft \right )=0$

${\color{Red} \mathbf{R_{BY}=15.278lb}}$

$\sum M_{B}=0$

$50lb\left ( 26ft \right )-15lb\cdot ft-R_{D}\left ( 18ft \right )-30lb\left ( 5ft \right )=0$

${\color{Red} \mathbf{R_{D}=64.722lb}}$
