EXAMPLE 5.0.5: RESULTANT MOMENT OF COPLANAR FORCES

Determine the resultant moment produced by the forces about point O.



By taking the components of the two forces, you can observe that they become colinear and thus can become just one single force.













Fx is directed to the right (being positive) and Fy goes downwards (being negative). For the moments of the components, the rotation of both components yield clockwise motion, so
