6.3. CONVERTING HEAD INTO PRESSURE AND VICE VERSA

When specifying pump capacity, head (head loss) needs to be converted into pressure. Head shows the relationship of the fluid pressure to the height of a column of the same fluid producing an equivalent pressure (static) at the base. In simpler explanation, the fluid head determines the height of an equivalent column of the same fluid which is required to achieve the specific pressure.
